Need for renovation and improvement

After the second visit to the Institute, it became clear that the focus of this project should lie on the improvement of the housing conditions for the girls at the Bala Bhavan House of Refuge. It has been build in 1969 and although some of the sanitary has been renovated 2 years ago, it was clear that the roof needed urgent renovation as well as the in-house comfort such as flooring. It would be a great effort regarding sustainability and further skills that during the roof renovation solar pannels would be put in place as well as an improved lighting system with energy saving lighting. Although the basic education is being given to the girls at school it would also be beneficiary for their future skills to maybe install some adequate IT-infrastructure based around decent internet-acces. With interactive easy to use applications they could then for example combine their basic IT-skills and improving their English language.
